Abstract paintings require alot of imagination to be effective

Abstract paintings are usually described as depicting scenes that are not of the natural world. Some abstract paintings have a pattern type of look, and other abstract paintings have wild colors in a non pattern style. I've seen abstract paintings that have a fantasy look to them. It takes alot of imagination to paint a good abstract painting.

In my own experience I have not painted much in the way of abstract. In the example below I painted an abstract painting and named this "Kaleidoscope"...
