THANKS
by: Anonymous

Thank you, you gave me some good ideas and tips. I did not think about the problem with painting the horizon in the middle like that but you are right. Since this painting I have figured out how to do the sky much better. I will be posting some updates soon.

I am having trouble blending on the canvas. Any tips?

Landscape Painting
by: Marilou

Hi thanks for your submission. Next time you take a photo of your painting try to take it with the flash turned off? You will not get the bright flash in the painting. This is a good start of a landscape painting. There are a couple of things I would try to adjust. Try to paint your horizon either at top or near bottom. Painting it in the middle "cuts" your picture in half. You can lighten your color on the bottom part by adding lighter tones of brown. You can mix up some yellow ochre and white to add to this area. It would be helpful to lighten the sky color to a lighter blue. This would soften your cloud mass. Would you like to put something else in on the ground? Good work. I would like to see the changes when you do them.
