I see three things that might help with your painting.
1. Paint your shadow areas (especially in the greesn darker. Remember, you need darks to show the light.
2. Gray is a neutral, so adding other colors to the road will give it more believeability. Try adding some cool colors like pale blue to the shadows and some warm colors like pale yellow to the highlight areas.
3. You have what is called a 'tangent' or 'kiss' in the tree line where the largest tree blends in with one next to it forming a straight line. Make the large one larger to change that a little.
Adding flowers will be much easier if you get some dark under painting in the area you want them.
hope this helps, Jim

adding brighter colors by: Rosie
Sometimes when I work with trees and other foilage, it helps to thin each layer as I get closer to the front colors, it helps to make it "stick"when working with wet-on-wet oils. I hope this helps you.

Tree Lane by: Anonymous
I need to ask you "what is the focus of this painting?" is it the trees? One thing I would try to change is to vary the green colours in your trees and try to put in some other green colours. Adding some flowers along the road under the trees would definitely make the painting more interesting. Let me know how these changes work out. Sometimes green can be abit over powering and you need to break it up with some other colour.
